Fallsburg School System
Fallsburg's Educational Mission encompasses
excellence in education and states that excellence
is achieved through supporting students through a
positive learning environment. The community is
encouraged to assist in restructuring educational
challenges to provide for a strong instructional
program that is guided by the New York State
learning standards. Approximately 700 students attend the newly
renovated Benjamin Cosor Elementary School. Small
classes and a caring, professional staff add to the
nurturing learning environment by encouraging
students to be lifelong learners. Fallsburg Middle School enrolls approximately 400
students. The staff encourages positive self-esteem,
organizational skills, homework strategies, and
parent-teacher conferences. A caring environment is
beneficial to learning, and facilitating a positive
transition into the high school is important to the
staff of the middle school. Nearly 350 students attend Fallsburg High School
and are taught leadership and responsibility skills
through work-study programs. Approximately 75
percent of students go on to college and more than
$25,000 is generated through scholarships for
deserving graduates. The Board of Education recognizes the importance
of helping students to meet their physical,
intellectual, and emotional needs; accepts
responsibility for preparing students with the basic
skills of learning, social and natural sciences,
heritage, and human endeavor; and acknowledges their
importance to the home and social agencies, and
establishing positive values for the purpose of
superior education. Benjamin Cosor Elementary School 756 Fallsburg Middle School 592 Fallsburg High School
